Please read carefully as when making any purchase or attending an event with Discover Wine, you will be bound by our terms and conditions.
  1. For a client to confirm their booking and hold the date, Discover Wine will require a non-refundable deposit of £100 inc VAT to be paid on receipt of the invoice or within 10 working days of booking.
  2. The balance is required 21 days prior to the event based on the number of guests attending.  Discover Wine operates on a minimum of 10 guests per party.  If the number of guests fluctuates, the client must advise Discover Wine accordingly.  Individuals cancelling with 10 working days prior notice will receive a refund less 10% providing the amount of guests does not drop below 10.  Increased numbers will be invoiced separately or can pay cash on the day of the event.
  3. With regards cancellation – the deposit will be held unless another date can be arranged within a 3 month period and the deposit will be transferred to that date.  Should the actual event be cancelled with at least 10 working days’ notice, prior to the event, than the balance amount (less the deposit) will be refunded minus any expenditure such as venue costs if not refundable.
  4. A guest can transfer their booking to another guest without charge.
  5. If for any reason a guest does not turn up for an event without prior arrangement, then there will be no refund.
  6. Anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted at these events.
  7. If for any reason out of our control, the event is unable to take place (e.g. weather, travel disruptions or illness), a full refund will be offered or an alternative date agreed.
  8. Discover Wine is not liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of attending one of our events.
  1. All prices are quoted exclusive of V.A.T. (unless stated) and are subject to fluctuations without notice.  Orders are accepted subject to availability and for execution at the price ruling at the date of invoice.  Should a wine not be available than a replacement wine of equal or better quality will be provided at no extra cost.
Retention of Title:
  1. Until full payment has been received by Discover Wine (UK) Ltd hereafter called the Company for the goods and for all other goods supplied by the Company the legal equitable title to the property in the goods shall not pass to the purchaser who shall store them separately and in such a way and with such markings that they can be readily identified as being the property of the Company. 
  2. In the event of resale of the goods or any part thereof prior to the full purchase price being paid, the full proceeds of the sale will be held in trust for and on behalf of the Company.  Such a sale is only authorised by the Company if it takes place in the ordinary course of the purchaser's business.
  3. If the buyer fails to pay for any goods in accordance with these terms or if the buyer suffers any distress or execution, makes a composition with its creditors or proceedings are commenced against it which could lead to bankruptcy, liquidation or the appointment of an Administrator, Receiver or Receiver and Manager of the buyer, all sums in respect of goods delivered to the buyer or arising from any transaction, sale or account whatsoever shall become due immediately and seller shall at any time thereafter be entitled to enter upon the buyer's premises and re-possess any goods supplied to the buyer by the seller.
Conditions for internet orders and non-account customers: 
Unless a prior agreement has been made with the company, a  proforma invoice will be sent. When payment is received with cleared funds  i.e BACs transfer,  the goods will be despatched. 
Settlement by approved account customers for goods supplied in any one month should be made no later than 21st of the following month.
All other sales purchases are to be paid prior to collection.  Any wine returned on the sale or return basis will be credited by the same method as payment.
A charge of £15.00 will be made for each cheque unpaid by the purchaser's bank including cheques returned marked 'Please Represent' , the charge will be made for each time the cheque is returned.  Interest will be charged on any outstanding amount at 2% above banker’s base rate.
Goods are not supplied on a Sale or Return basis unless prior agreement has been made.  Sale or return only on stock lines plus with guidance from the Company on ordering quantities.  We are unable to accept the return of goods for whatever reason if those goods are no longer listed in the Company's current wine list or if they are in poor condition.  All goods on a Sale or Return basis must be returned within a week of the event.
Trays of glasses may be borrowed provided the equivalent amount of alcohol is purchases.  The glasses are sent out washed and polished and are to be returned in the same way.  Anyone returning dirty trays will be charged £10 per tray.  Any damaged to the actual trays will be charged at £10 ex VAT and any broken glasses will be charged at £1 per glass ex VAT.
The normal minimum carriage paid delivery is 1 case (9 litres) within our local delivery area of 15 miles radius of the warehouse.  A nominated day of delivery will be discussed prior.
We will supply an ensuing vintage when that quoted is no longer available.
All goods should be examined on receipt and any losses or breakages reported at the time of delivery.
To comply with the Data Protection Act 1984 we are required to inform you that we have recorded your name and address on our computer for the sole purpose of sending you our price list and other information.  Your name and address will not be given to third parties.
